KUAE Alumnus Thomas Yechout Named as 2019 AIAA Fellow

Class of 1984 KU Aerospace alumnus Thomas R. Yechout was named as a member of AIAA's 2019 Class of Fellows and Honorary Fellows. Yechout earned his doctorate degree in Aerospace Engineering and now serves as a Professor of Aeronautical Engineering at the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has received many awards, including the NASA Outstanding Achievement Award. In 2011, he was named Colorado Professor of the Year.

The AIAA Class of Fellows recognizes individuals who have notable and valuable contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics and astronautics.

The Fellows and Honorary Fellows will be inducted on May 15, 2019 at the AIAA Spotlight Awards Gala, a black-tie event that recognizes exceptional contributors to the aerospace community. The Gala will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.

KUAE congratulates Yechout on his success and recognizes him as an inspiring example of Jayhawk excellence.
