AIAA students tour Jet Midwest

Friday, March 28, 2014

On March 26th a group of KU AIAA students traveled to the Kansas City International Airport to tour Jet Midwest's facilities. Jet Midwest is a premier provider of commercial aircraft heavy maintenance, modification and pain services. They are located in a 64 acre 1.2M sq ft facility on the edge of the airport. Our students had the opportunity to talk with professionals, interact with actual aircraft undergoing maintenance, and driving golf carts around the facility.

During the tour, the student organization group, AIAA, learned the importance of being flexible and being able to negotiate in their industry. The interesting processes and manufacturing done at Jet Midwest excited several students to start thinking about it as a possible career goal. The professionals that led the students around gave helpful advice and encouraging support to enlighten the eager minds of the next generation of professional engineers."
